Judging from the interviews above and the secondhand info from folks who have seen the film, Into the Wild is one not to be missed. Sean Penn is 3 for 3 as a director thus far in my mind, having made challenging and somewhat unorthodox films [The Pledge and The Crossing Guard are favorites] that further his reputation as a true artist. Additionally, after watching his Inside the Actor’s Studio episode that love is only deepened.
Before it opens fully throughout the country and onto its eventual place on dozens of top ten lists, the film is screening in towns throughout the Southeast and if you feel so inclined to enter, a pass might be waiting for you.
