Terrence Malick’s upcoming film, currently untitled, is looking more interesting every day. Reportedly covering the Austin music scene, the production’s not hurting for actors. Spectators have already snapped shots of Ryan Gosling, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale and Michael Fassbender on set. Rooney Mara’s even been spotted performing on stage with indie rock darlings Black Lips.
Which make these pics of Val Kilmer on stage all the more interesting. Could Kilmer be adding to his rockstar oeuvre with a part in Malick’s latest work? It’s been over twenty years since the actor collaborated with Oliver Stone to bring Jim Morrison back to life in The Doors. Personally I’d watch him paint a model plane for two hours, I find the guy that interesting. These pics have Kilmer with guitar, kissing a man, with a chainsaw, and finally in a walker – once again summing up the many phases of a rockstar life more succinctly than most:
