The biggest shame when Kick-Ass 2 came about was the realization that Nicolas Cage’s Damon Macready / Big Daddy would be too dead to participate. Rumors prior to production had Cage possibly showing up in cameo via flashback – hearsay until just now, when director Jeff Wadlow tweeted the below photo with the caption “Nobody puts Daddy in the corner”:
So even if Cage doesn’t make an appearance in the film, his old duds seemingly will. Personally, I’d love to see Cage back in a cameo capacity – as his whackadoo Adam West-riff was part of what made Kick-Ass such a joy to watch. This image could just as easily be a memorial housed at Hit-Girl HQ (ala Jason Todd), but I wouldn’t be surprised if it turns out to be something more.
