It’s hard to trust actors when they say these things. Especially when we’ve seen Indiana Jones, Rocky Balboa, John Rambo and Tron from Tron all return to the big screen within the span of the last ten years. And while I wouldn’t put Liam Neeson’s Bryan Mills on the level of those names I just mentioned (okay, maybe Tron), I do like the way he kills bad guys. So I wouldn’t be against seeing the character forge ahead in continued adventures. Sadly, Liam Neeson does not agree. Here he is in an interview with Empire Magazine:
“I don’t see it. I don’t think it’s going to happen. I really don’t. I can’t see a possible scenario where audiences wouldn’t go, ‘Oh, come on…! She’s taken again?”
Schindler has a point, but he could also just be waiting to see how this Taken 2‘s box office plays out before making a decision one way or the other. A novel approach, I know. The Taken movies feel like Neeson’s Death Wish – a series that kept Charles Bronson fed for twenty long years of action. He might not be keen to make a third film in the series right now. But if and when 2 hits and the studio backs a Brinks truck onto Neeson’s lawn?
Poor Kim Mills has to wonder about her luck sometimes.
