Looks familiar, no?
The big rumor brewing out of Hollywood is that there are some remakes on the horizon. I’ll believe it when I see it. In the meantime, EW has your official (though not the first) look at Chloë Grace Moretz as Carrie in all her iconic, bloody glory. Seems kind of weak for MGM and Screen Gems to put their moneyshot out into the world like this, but such is the decision-making process when you have a movie to sell.
Kimberly Peirce (Boys Don’t Cry) is certainly an inspired choice for the directing chair, and the cast (Moretz, Julianne Moore, Judy Greer) is more than capable. The first film is watershed as far as both book adaptations and horror go, as it came out at a time when director Brian de Palma was truly firing on all cylinders. I don’t see this film inspiring the same level of acclaim, but it has to at least be better than The Rage: Carrie 2.
Right?
