Last week, Devin wrote about SciFi Wire writing about the New York Daily News writing about the rumour that Jake Gyllenhaal is in talks to become either Shazam, Billy Batson, or both. Aaaaand…not so much.
Speaking to IGN’s FIlm Force, Shazam! writer John August blew off that idea like Devin dismissing Jake’s chops in act three of Zodiac. "He’s not considering. I can pretty much assure you he’s never heard of
the project. And we’ve never discussed him. We’ve never seriously
discussed anyone."
Just in case that’s not clear enough, August went on to elaborate: "…trust me: there is no list. There’s no start date, no release date, no
movie whatsoever. There’s just a script to be written. Which I should
probably get back to."
