**Minor spoilers – watch at your own risk
I’m having difficulty putting into context just how badly I want to see Ridley Scott’s Prometheus. Say my grandmother was kidnapped by terrorists and held for ransom on June 8. It would be unfortunate, and I would be sad for her. But we’re going to have to deal with that shit in the AM. Because A. I never negotiate with terrorists, and B. Have you seen this trailer?
Which brings us to this clip of Prometheus (the name of the ship) landing on a planet not-at-all-dissimilar to the one Scott visted in Alien. Oddly, I get more of an Event Horizon vibe from this scene:
Am I the only one who finds Idris Elba’s thick Texas accent out of place? He sounds like a medicated Jim Varney as Slinky Dog from Toy Story. I’m hoping it’s less jarring once I’m dialed in to the film on release day. I happen to like Elba and Scott’s earned my trust at this point. Prometheus drops in the first week of June.
