A little earlier this week, Dev reported on the new fantasy movie The Dark is Rising, which is based on a five-book series, some of which is derived from Arthurian Legends. Ian McShane was cast as the mystical mentor to the young protagonist (Alexander Ludwig) in his quest to travel back and forth through time to vanquish the forces of the Dark. Filming is this month, so further casting announcements were to be expected, and sure enough, they’re here.
Now joining the cast are Christopher Eccleston (Dr. Who, Heroes) as the villain, a magnificiently monikered fella known as The Rider. Also joining up are Amelia Warner (Brotherhood of the Wolf), Gregory Smith (Everwood), Jonathan Jackson, Emma Lockhart, Frances Conroy, and a host of other less notable peeps.
