Two things that never need appear again in a film not oriented towards the chronic masturbator crowd: pool boys and pimps. And yet American Summer will soon begin shooting in New Orleans, hiding both those archetypes not only under one blasé title, but in a single character.
Matthew Lillard, not so conspicuously low-profile since 2004’s Without A Paddle, will appear in the Flipzide Studios film. His role: a pool boy who, with the escort who lives next door, moves into an empty mansion where he normally polishes tile and begins pimping out his comely friend.
Because no pimp is complete without a muscle guy (not a M.U.S.C.L.E. guy, though I have a jar of those here on my desk) Efrem Ramirez will appear as the strong arm of the operation. Just because you voted for him once, however, doesn’t mean you have to do it again.
The recently-minted Flipzide Studios is also responsible for Lillard’s upcoming Parental Guidance Suggested. American Pie 2 director J.B. Rogers is signed to helm American Summer.
