Valve, though corporate mouthpiece EA, today announced that Halloween won’t be the only reason to be excited about black and orange this fall. The Black and Orange boxes will finally see the release of new Half-Life 2 content, as well as the debut of the full game on next-gen consoles.
The Black Box, for PCs only, will contain Half-Life 2 Episode 2, Portal and Team "Holy Shit I Can’t Believe They Announced This Almost Ten Years Ago" Fortress 2.
The Orange Box, which will be released for the PC, PlayStation3 and Xbox360, will contain all that content plus full versions of Half-Life 2 and HL2 Episode 1. That’s not only a massive amount of content for (let’s hope) sixty bucks, but a couple giant steps beyond the neutered Half-Life 2 port we had to suffer on the original Xbox a while back.
