Not since George Bush was re-elected have I so regretted living in America. London’s Institute of Contemporary Arts is holding a two-week (we fought a revolution so we wouldn’t have to call it a fortnight!) film festival from February 3-18 featuring some of the cop movies that inspired Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost when making Hot Fuzz. And just to rub it in, the Hot Fuzztival will include a preview screening of the new cop comedy on February 10th.
As if some of the titles themselves aren’t enough to draw UK Chewers out to the theater – we’re talking a double bill of Point Break and Bad Boys II, for the love of God – Edgar will be introducing some of the films himself. The Institute of Contemporary Arts will be updating with what films Edgar will intro, and he’ll be DJing in the bar between the Feb 10th screening of Super Cops, the movie that most inspired Hot Fuzz (and a movie I have been wanting to see for a while) and Hot Fuzz itself. There will also be a Q&A with Edgar, Simon and Nick, and more fun stuff. This is little festival that must not be missed.
Click here for the schedule, and make sure to check out each individual film page – Edgar writes little intros for some of them.
