I was recently in Times Square, and the massive outdoor posters for Apocalypto and Stomp the Yard are very close together on the north side of 42nd Street just off 8th Avenue. Moments later I came across the poster for Night at the Museum, and it was hard to not notice that these three posters have incredibly similar central figures (although Apocalypto is looking at him from the reverse angle). Meanwhile, We Are Marshall uses the same golden backlighting effect, but the full image seems ripped off of The Rookie (an observation I ripped off of someone on a message board somewhere, but I can’t find the exact place – sorry for not giving you credit), which seems to tie the silhouetted figure back in to the original three posters.
This isn’t a new feature or a real news item, just a little something I noticed…
