If George Clooney owned his own football team, it would shape up quite nicely. That man has an eye for talent (at least I think so). The closest we’ll ever get to that, though is Leatherheads.
For those who don’t know already, Leatherheads is romantic comedy set in the world of 1920s football. Clooney is also directing.
John Krasinski, of The Office fame, has just joined Clooney’s starting line-up. There is one little point, however, that has to be worked out. The film is set to be shot in the spring, but they need to figure out how to work around Krasinski’s schedule, so he can continue working on The Office.
The story, written by Clooney and Steven Schiff, is about team owner Jimmy "Dodge" Connelly (Clooney), who hires college football sensation Carter Rutherford (Krasinski). Things get complicated when Dodge falls for Carter’s fiancé, Lexi (Renée Zellweger).
I’m a fan of things that Clooney directs, and this should turn out to be no different. It sounds like your typical RomCom, but with Clooney behind the wheel, who knows what we’re in for.
