The trailer for Robert Rodriguez’ half of Grindhouse – Planet Terror – is up on YouTube (now housing over a billion dollars worth of copyright infringement, stupid kids hurting themselves on camera and pre-teen girls lip synching and dancing). I think the trailer debuted at the Spike Chainsaw Awards or something – it’s playing in front of a live audience for sure. A live audience that is eating it up.
And you will be too. This is a pretty great trailer, and I’m impressed by how some of the footage actually looks like an exploitation film from the 70s. I don’t mean the digitally inserted scratches and dirt on the print, but the basic cinematography and flat lighting.
