I was not expecting this.
I do not like the trailer for The Hobbit. I really don’t like it. And I’m a massive fan of the original films. And of the casting of Martin Freeman. This spot, while just the first teaser for a film a year away, just doesn’t sit right with me. Part of it is the way they focus on introducing all the new characters (whose makeup ranges from cool to Fat Bastard) and that there’s nothing here that feels all that epic.
And for a second it felt like a spoof of The Lord of the Rings.
In two weeks I’ll be totally on the bandwagon but right now…
