Oldman, Firth, Hinds, Hurt, Jones, Strong, Cumberbatch, Hardy, Graham…

Too many great names not to get some kind of greatness out of any movie that assembles them, and I can assure your TTSS gets a lot of greatness out of the lot of them. One’s tolerance for a quiet, measured spy story may vary, but no fan of screen performance can walk away from this film unimpressed. And if, like me, you LOVE a precise and adult thriller steeped in an interesting aesthetic, then you may find yourself with a dark horse candidate for favorite film of the year.

If you’re in the New York area, CHUD would love to give you the opportunity to see the film for free and to prepare you with a copy of the novel as well, so we’ve got 10 pairs of Run-Of-Engagement passes to see the film that will each come with the John le Carré book on which the film is based. I’m about halfway through the novel now and, while I think the film distinctly improves the story, it’s a consistently entertaining book that’s nice to dig through after seeing the movie.

The film opens in NY this Friday, so get your entries in quick! To do so, simply hit the link below and answer the following question (a link to a RT or FB share wouldn’t hurt either):

If you’ve not read the novel, which of these fines actors involved in the film do you suspect is the “mole, right at the top of the circus”..?

If you HAVE read the novel, then just let me know which actors you’re most excited to see chew up this 70s spy scenery…
