Everyone but Robert Kennedy is in Emilio Estevez’s new film Bobby and the only reason he’s not in it is because he’s busy being shot. Many have touted this as a return to form for the man who brought us the seminal Men at Work, or rather a first attempt at form. I love me some Emilio, but his serious directorial efforts have teetered on heavy-handed, Men at Work notwithstanding. Here’s hoping he pulls it off and here’s also hoping that the comparison to Crash means more about performances and awards season than it does about content, because um, that film was a bit heavy-handed itself. How heavy handed? A rock golem was jealous. Here’s the latest poster for said film, and I hope like me you folks are a little in Emilio’s corner. That’s John Wisdom, and you don’t want to piss him off.
