CGI Ape Lord and mo-cap extraordinaire Andy Serkis met up with IGN yesterday to discuss his projects when, of course, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey came up. In regards to a trailer of some sort, Andy had this to say: “Caesar is home.”
Wait, that’s not right. Here’s the correct quote: “There will be a trailer fairly soon, actually. Around Christmas time, I believe.”
Given that Warner Bros. is the studio releasing Hobbit, there’s a solid chance that the teaser shows up in front of Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. But I also wouldn’t be surprised if it appeared before The Adventures of Tintin. The Steven Spielberg-directed and Peter Jackson-produced motion capture animated film (in which Serkis plays Captain Haddock) opens in the US right before Christmas. That’s where I’m placing my bets right now. If Jackson wants a Hobbit in front of his Tintin, something tells me the Brothers Warner will oblige him.
