What does it take to sink a massive luxury ship? A Cruise missile, or just a soggy script? Either way, despite dropping nearly 50% from its opening weekend, M:I 3 dunked the big budget disaster Poseidon into the depths of second place, marking the first major flop of what will likely be a very floppy summer movie season.

And speaking of things nobody really wants to see anymore: Lindsay Lohan. Her teen romcom Just My Luck got sandwiched between Robin Williams and Donald Sutherland, which is pretty much where she belongs now anyway. As expected, Americans don’t really care about soccer either, kicking Goal! in 12th place with just a couple of million, but the rest of the world turned out in big numbers because they enjoy boring sports and fighting in the stands.

Next week loads another round into the blockbuster gun with The Da Vinci Code, while more CG critters skitter into theaters in Over the Hedge and horror and wrestling clash in See No Evil.
