So, like most people who live in the sewers of Myanmar, you’ve no doubt wondered what your fine-toothed Mr. Coombs has been up to for the past few months. Watching movies, of course! My favorite of the year so far? Attack the Block, bruv. But you probably knew that. Followed by Midnight in Paris, because they go so well together as a double feature. Sure, Owen Wilson hasn’t fought off alien invasion before (though I admit to not seeing all of Marley and Me) but he sure did visit the Space! I mean, what would you watch instead? Young Einstein? I thought I told you to steer clear of that Yahoo Serious, young lady!
Anyhowitzer, I feel compelled to write to you, my loyal fans, about how not dead I am. I’m hoping I can get this blogomatic up and running again fairly quickly. We’ll see what the autumn season brings us in the form of laughs and good times. Before then, I’d love to hear what movies you’ve loved and lamented so far this year. Personally, I managed to sit through The Change-Up and Horrible Bosses without dying, which I consider an amazing feat on my part. Didn’t see the Fright Night remake, but I’m holding out for a re-do of Part II, just to see who they cast as the roller-skating transexual.
This is a short entry, I admit, but I just wanted to get back in the game a bit. See you next Wednesday for my discussion of Conan the Barbarian, aka That Movie I Saw That I Kind of Forget Most of the Plot Of/That Movie Where the Well-Breasted Rachel Nichols Wears A Lot of Heavy Robes.
