I’m excited for a ton of film’s this coming fall, but few are as bright on my radar as the newest film from David Cronenberg, A Dangerous Method.
The trailer is excellent –you should definitely watch it if you haven’t already– and I’ve been eager to make a mark on my calendar for when I get to see it, and now I finally can:
November 23rd, 2011
That puts it up against a pretty hefty batch of films, including Hugo, The Muppets, Piranha 3DD, Arthur Christmas, and two other limited releases: The Artist and The Descendents. This may seem like an odd weekend to choose with so much competition, but that would really be the case for any weekend this year, and I can’t imagine they’re banking on big returns for such an esoteric thriller.
That said, my fingers are crossed that this film finds as big of an audience as it is able– that is, if it’s as good as it looks.
A date also came for Carnage, the new Polanksi dramedy with the good poster. That one will hit in December on the 16th. Same date as Sherlock Holmes, The Iron Lady, and Alvin and the Chipmunks. See? Can’t catch a break anywhere on the calendar…
