TVLine has the word on the pending update of ’80s super sudser, Dallas, this time called…Dallas. The next gen drama has been picked up to series by TNT and will premiere Summer 2012. TNT is hoping to whet some appetites out there by releasing the cast pic above and a sneak peek this Monday, 7/11, during the premieres of The Closer and Rizzoli & Isles. Dallas will feature the return of the big three (that are still alive anyway) of Patrick Duffy as Bobby Ewing, Linda Gray as Sue Ellen, and Larry Hagman as good ole J.R. Making things watchable for everyone else who didn’t share the planet at the same time the first incarnation was on is Josh Henderson (Desperate Housewives), Jesse Metcalfe (Desperate Housewives), Jordana Brewster (Fast Five), Julie Gonzalo (Veronica Mars) and Brenda Strong (Desperate Housewives). Hell, with all the DH castoffs, one might be left to wonder if Miss Ellie is going to be narrating this thing.
Metcalfe will be Pam and Bobby’s adopted son, Christopher, Henderson John Ross, Brewster will portray a ranch cook’s daughter who’s in the obligatory love triangle between the two, Gonzalo will be Christopher’s fiancee, Rebecca and Strong will be Bobby’s new wife, Ann. Apparently Victoria Principal was too busy counting her stacks of infomercial cash. You can check out more info over at DallasTNT.com.
