I’m going to base this conjecture solely on his previous film Brotherhood of the Wolf, but I’m gonna go ahead and assume that Christophe Gans’ first venture in the videogame-to-film genre will fare better than the similar efforts of Paul WS Anderson and Dr. Uwe Boll. Honestly, that’s a guess, though. Because Bloodrayne was fuckin’ awesome.
I was always too much of a damn coward to actually play the creepy games, but theĀ Silent Hill movie stars Pitch Black alien fighter Radha Mitchell as a mother searching the supernatural neighborhood of the title for her missing daughter, who’s just a little too young for me, maybe. Sean Bean sports an odd American accent as the concerned dad, while various spooks and grotesque monsters eat and scare people.
The TriStar flick, penned by former Tarantino comrade Roger Avary, seems ambitious for a videogame movieĀ in that it’s staying true to the source material while trying to actually be decent.
