The inexorable gravitational force of two planets has pulled Stephen Sommers back to When Worlds Collide, a remake of the classic sci-fi disaster film from the previous century.
Sommers had been attached to the project before, but had left for some reason or other and ended up as director of Ben Stiller’s next film, A Night At the Museum. When creative differences arose (Ben Stiller wanted the film to suck less than Sommers did), Sommers went off to pout for a little while. Now he has returned to colliding worlds for a second attempt at destroying the Earth (first was Van Helsing).
The better Steven, Spielberg, is producing When Worlds Collide. I am a little concerned that hanging around Sommers will have a negative effect on Spielberg, like if he was hanging out in a room with a big hunk of uranium.
