Arrested Development‘s Gob the Magician, Will Arnett, is one of the funniest guys around, and Hollywood seems to be picking up on that, judging by how many movies he’s starring in in the near future.
He just finished RV with Robin Williams. He’s also signed on to star in You’re Going to Prison with Dax Shepard (who is so good in Zathura), Dad Can’t Lose and (again with Dax), and Get ‘Em WetMost Likely to Succeed, a comedy about high school reunions.
He will also be in a film called We’re the Millers, a comedy about a pot dealer trying to make one last big score and get 1400 pounds of weed from Mexico to the United States. The film has a good pedigree – besides starring Arnett, it’s being written by the Wedding Crashers duo Steve Faber and Bob Fisher.
I am glad to see Arnett prospering. I don’t have a lot of hope for Arrested Development to even finish out the season – Fox has really given the show a good shot, but for some reason the American public is too dense to enjoy the funniest thing on their TVs. So when AD goes, at least we’ll still have Arnett around.
