I am pleased to announce that the downloads and sales for my band’s latest CD (Emusic, Amazon, Itunes, Napster, Rhapsody) has led to almost enough royalty money to buy an Izod shirt. That’s half sarcasm and half genuine pride. The music business is messed up, no one gives a crap about my bands, and we don’t play shows yet we still have squeezed a little bit of royalties from the Earth.
We went imitation zinc on the charts!
That’s a bonus, because we’re pretty proud of the stuff and that’s the main reward but it makes you wonder what would happen if we all quit our jobs, dumped our wives, and went out on the road full time to see if we had what it took.
My estimation: DOUBLE OUR REVENUE!
