The teaser trailer for Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, the latest in the survival horror series, didn’t really give people much of a look at the game and gamers were dubious, as they often are. We’ve all accepted that the series has taken a trip into almost straight-up action over the years, but squad-based multiplayer game? How far from the original could you get?
Well, this new trailer shows a helluva lot more gameplay and lets us see that the game might be the darkest one in years. Reports coming in from Capcom’s recent Captivate event reveal that the game will utilize zombies in innovative ways. While the zombies aren’t your main objective in this fight, you’re in the middle of Raccoon City during the massive outbreak, and they’re everywhere. They can see, hear, and smell you- and this works out to the strategy of the game. Shooting an enemy in the leg might not kill them but the blood will draw the horde. Zombies aren’t the only thing you have to worry about either- the other Resident Evil nasties like Hunters and Lickers will be lurking around, along with some of the boss creatures. Definitely adds a new dimension to the team combat.
It’s hard not to be excited for what could be after seeing this.
