The Tribeca Film Festival has announced its list of special events and panels and one stands out from the rest. No, it’s not the examination of A Beautiful Mind with appearances by Ron Howard and Akiva Goldsmith (hell no), it’s a special demonstration from none other than Rockstar Games. What do they have to do with film, besides possibly making great trailers and that disappointing John Hillcoat Red Dead Redemption short? Who cares! They will be there to show off their new title L.A. Noire with an interactive demonstration, more than a month before its release.
Tribeca Enterprises chief creative officer Geoffrey Gilmore will moderate and there will be a Q&A that focuses on the amazing motion capture technology the game uses, as well as the the themes of narrative and action in the videogame medium. So it doesn’t have a whole lot to do with film but surely it will be a fascinating event.
The L.A. Noire event will take place at the SVA Theater on Monday April 25th at 3:30pm. Check Tribeca’s site for more info.
