After the tease of the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire trailer that aired on Extra a few nights ago, we now have the full international trailer, complete with French subtitles so you can learn stuff!
The main thrust of the story in this film is that the TriWizard Tournament is happening at Hogwarts, and that means students from France and Bulgaria have descended upon the school to compete in three deadly and exciting games. The new trailer walks you through that history and then proceeds to unleash some very excellent imagery – set to very good music! I was excited that John Williams actually bothered writing new music for the last Potter film, as I find most of his scores bombastic and repetitive, and it sounds like maybe the fourth film will follow that trend.
I am also glad to see that the effects look pretty good. There’s a dreamy quality to some of the stuff, especially the underwater stuff, that I think fits the story perfectly. And I don’t hate the design of the merpeople, but I suppose that could change. I get grumpy.
