Cillian (it’s pronounced Killian) Murphy and Rachel McAdams are having some McTrouble in the skies in Wes Craven’s Red Eye, a thriller based around the premise that Murphy’s friendly passenger is anything but as he threatens the attractive young lady as they fly.
As if the skies aren’t scary enough with the threat of terrorism, the fear of airline cutbacks chasing the best pilots away, and the fact that you’re in a giant unwieldy tube scoffing at nature and its ability to smash you to the ground.
The film is coming in a few weeks but I have stacks of passes for folks in six cities to partake of, provided they can get a SASE (Self Addressed Stamped Envelope, that’s IN ADDITION to the one you mail it in) to me in the next few days. If you are in one of the cities below and sent me a Brothers Grimm or Cave pass (I’m still waiting on those passes to get here), drop me an email and I’ll send Red Eye in that one and you can send me a new envelope for those.
Either way, make sure you get it in the mail today or tomorrow so I can send some Red Eye passes your way for next week’s screening. As much as I bash the guy, Wes Craven is a vital part of my horror upbringing (does anyone love The Serpent and the Rainbow as much as I do or crave Deadly Friend on DVD?) and this looks like it could be a damn solid thriller.
Here’s the cities:
