From the mind behind the mega-hit Syfy show you’ve probably never heard of (EUREKA) comes a tribute to all those no-budget Syfy original movies and the “so bad, they’re good” films that inspired them. Move over Roger Corman, step back Ed Wood, make way on your weekend programming schedule Mr. Stern, because here comes Andrew Cosby’s 365 DAYS OF SCI-FI.

And it’s all happening here! Each day, your friends at CHUD will bring you a brand new bad movie pitch — the best of the worst title Cosby can come up with, no matter where he’s at or what he’s doing, rain or shine, drunk or sober. That’s a whole year of the quality concepts you’ve come to expect from the network that brought you MANSQUITO and SHARKTOPUS.

365 days of Sci-Fi Archive

And now… DAY THIRTY-EIGHT:

“As my wife will readily attest, I’m a complete workaholic.  I mean, who else would come up with the idea to write 365 bad movie pitches in their non-existent spare time?  Anyway, convincing me to go on vacation is always a huge hassle, but bless her heart, she keeps on trying.  So, to my loving wife of nearly ten years, this one’s for you.”

“Welcome to the jungle.”

Pitch:

When a penny-pinching accountant decides to save some money by taking his wife and kids on a working vacation, they wind up stranded in the middle of a South American jungle.  Fending off all manner of wild animals, it looks like things couldn’t get any worse… until they inadvertently desecrate the sacred burial grounds of a lost Aztec tribe.  Forced to flee from cannibalistic headhunters bent on retribution, the family quickly realizes that the only way to survive is to turn and fight, so they stop bickering and start kicking some Aztec ass.

Nick Says: In the tradition of Charlton Heston in El Cid and Rod Steiger in The Specialist it’ll be nice to see the Spanish culture given a tender rogering by an ill-equipped American. This time, we get the distinct pleasure of Gary Busey as an Aztec Chieftan as he squares up against the account, played to a “T” by Michael Biehn.
