Pitch:
RENFIELD – In this grounded, modern-day reinterpretation of Bram Stoker’s DRACULA, brilliant and clinically insane R. M Renfield, convicted of killing his own family, joins forces with the FBI in exchange for certain privileges, including access to his own case file, which he hopes will allow him to reopen the investigation, prove his innocence and somehow track down the person responsible for the deaths of his wife and child. Demonstrating a unique penchant for solving crimes, Renfield teams with seasoned FBI Special Agent Mina Harker to investigate a string of brutal slayings in which the bodies are found ritualistically murdered. Harker and Renfield have a history, as she was the one who brought him down years ago in a high profile investigation that launched her career as the bureau’s leading profiler. Renfield proving his innocence could be Harker’s undoing,but it would be well worth it to track America’s most prolific multiple murderer, a mysterious and elusive psychopath who’s convinced that vampires are real and has been stalking and staking his victims, burning their remains. As they work together to capture this mad man, Harker and Renfield will eventually come face-to-face with the killer, only to be confronted by the horrifying realization that there may be more truth to the killer’s claims than either of them are willing to admit. Which means the real evil is still out there… and the hunters may have just become the hunted.
