From the mind behind the mega-hit Syfy show you’ve probably never heard of (EUREKA) comes a tribute to all those no-budget Syfy original movies and the “so bad, they’re good” films that inspired them. Move over Roger Corman, step back Ed Wood, make way on your weekend programming schedule Mr. Stern, because here comes Andrew Cosby’s 365 DAYS OF SCI-FI.

And it’s all happening here! Each day, your friends at CHUD will bring you a brand new bad movie pitch — the best of the worst title Cosby can come up with, no matter where he’s at or what he’s doing, rain or shine, drunk or sober. That’s a whole year of the quality concepts you’ve come to expect from the network that brought you MANSQUITO and SHARKTOPUS.

365 days of Sci-Fi Archive

And now… DAY ONE-HUNDRED AND THIRTEEN:

“Here’s my modern-day sci-fi reinvention of a literary masterpiece, THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO.”

– Andy Cosby (Twitter)

“Home is where the Hurt is”

Pitch:

THE MISSING MAN – When an everyman disappears after the birth of his daughter and is eventually declared deceased, he mysteriously returns thirteen years later, having finally escaped his captors, only to find the life he once knew all but vanished.  His wife is remarried to his best friend, his baby girl is now a troubled teen, and the world itself seems to have simply moved on without him.  He’s lost everything, including potentially his own sanity.  Consequently, the man struggles to deal with his shattered past and reclaim his identity while secretly seeking out those who did this to him.  In his quest for vengeance, he ultimately discovers that there are others like him — people who vanished, only to return years later, all pawns in some grand conspiracy.

Nick Says: Sounds like a real movie. Like, something that has merit and belongs on a different channel. To counteract that I suggest we cast a lightweight like Sean Patrick Flanery so it maintains that SyFy vibe.
