In anticipation of their release of Dead Space 2, Entertainment Arts is teaming up with Anchor Bay Entertainment to release the new animated movie Dead Space: Aftermath, which offers a unique way of telling the story.
Coming from the award-winning game development team and the 2008 animated feature production company, Dead Space Aftermath will feature several internationally renowned animation directors that use their unique and bold visions to explain what happened during the first-responder mission to Aegis VII. The directors will do this through the perspective of four survivors in this fast-paced horrifying thrill ride that stretches the limits of time and space.
And for those of you stoked about the video game itself, it’ll be available at the same time as the DVD/Blu-Ray on January 25th, 2011 for the PS2, XBox360, and for the PC.
In Dead Space 2, engineer Isaac Clarke makes his return in a blood-curdling new adventure on an all-new space installation known as “The Sprawl.” The lone survivor of a horrific alien infestation, Isaac finds himself confronting a catastrophic new nightmare. Battling dementia, Isaac will do whatever it takes to save himself and dominate the relentless enemy onslaughts. Equipped with a new arsenal of tools to dismember the necromorphs, Isaac faces the challenge head-on. Players will see Isaac fight bigger, scarier and more epic battles that will keep them on the edge of their seats.
Dead Space: Aftermath on Blu-ray will run you $34.99, while the DVD will cost $26.98. The pre-book (not quite sure what a pre-book is: a scroll?) will hold you over until the new year with its release on December 29th.
Dead Space 2 retails for $59.99.
