Severin Films already announced earlier this year that they were going to be releasing Alejandro Jodorowsky’s Santa Sangre. Now it seems like the independent film supplier is going to make these rarer titles available on a more regular basis.
They’ve just teamed up with indie film producer and distributor MPI Media Group to release 10 to 12 titles per year digitally – either on DVD or video-on-demand. And first up: the 1972 zombie biker flick, Psychomania, which was released on October 26th. Soon to follow is Santa Sangre, Birdemic — Shock & Terror, and Paul W.S. Anderson’s Shopping.
Severin has only been around for four years, but has already released independent films like the original Inglorious Bastards, Gwendoline, and Hardware on Blu-ray and DVD — and with this new arrangement, looks to keep churning them out for the foreseeable future.
