Trailers and More

Toy Story 3 made a shitload of money this summer by recycling the best parts of Toy Story 2 and going darker. I love seeing Ned Beatty star in a children’s movie, but this film could’ve been so much more. While it did succeed in making Andy pretty creepy, it did damage to the progress made in the first two films by just recycling the same story. A lot of people have made the argument that the third chapter in this trilogy shifted the focus from growing up to rejuvenation, but I don’t totally buy it. What this film asks for you to believe is that Disney will ask Pixar to keep creating more of these films. As long as kids wants to be Buzz Lightyear on Halloween, Tim Allen will get steady work from the guys at Emeryville.
