Coming Soon has the new poster for The Tourist, starring Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie. And it’s uh, well, not that inspired seems a safe description. Sure, you have two of the most attractive actors working today, but close-cropping the hell out of a joint picture and calling it a one sheet seems an artsy depiction on the floating head standard. And speaking of art, a little closer of Jolie’s signature sexy profile melding into Depp’s “who the hell is that” expression, and it’s almost Picasso-like.
The film centers on Frank Taylor, an American on holiday in Europe trying to
get over a broken heart. He meets Elise, a mysterious and
beautiful woman, who deliberately crosses his path in order to confuse
people who are after her to get to someone else. When Frank pursues a
relationship, he finds himself drawn into a world of danger and
intrigue. The shot seems to be a depiction of Frank on the train where he meets Elise and noticing that someone is looking at them. And Jolie’s expression is right before she coyly assures him that they’re not, even though she knows they are. [YOUCANFINDOUTTHETRUTH]
