Bloody Disgusting has the new promo trailer for the upcoming Dylan Dog: Dead of Night, starring the Evil Intersect, Brandon Routh. Routh plays paranormal investigator, Dylan Dog, who never changes his wardrobe from a red shirt, black jacket and blue jeans and who handles cases involving werewolves, vampires, zombies and other monster types. Based on the beloved Italian comic book series, Dylan Dog created in
1986 by Tiziano Sclavi and published by Sergio Bonelli Editore (SBE)
which has sold over 60 million units in over seventeen countries around
the world. Dylan’s adventures have always tipped their hat to
traditional horror elements with numerous “tributes” to the classic
monsters (i.e. Frankenstein, The Werewolf, Dracula and many others),
but they also deal with questioning the human condition: often putting
Dylan in situations that point at the real monster — mankind itself. (via Official Website).
Checking the thing out, I’m getting a sort of “Constantine meets Monster Squad” kind of vibe. Dylan Dog: Dead of Night is directed by Kevin Munroe (TMNT). It also stars Taye Diggs, Peter Stormare, Sam Huntington and Anita Briem and is slated to open later this year.
Thanks to Brian for the tip.
