Activision today released a new trailer showing off how the new multiplayer modes work in DJ Hero 2. Much like their last Guitar Hero titles, it has drop-in drop-out multiplayer, meaning you can start and stop playing in whenever you like. Two DJs and one MC can join in at any time.
It’s doubtful how many times you’d actually use this feature, but it’s nice to have.
Personal note- I just picked up this game on the cheap a week ago (I know, late to the party) and have been loving every minute of it. Some of the mixes are absolutely incredible, and it’s great to just hear new stuff from DJ Shadow, Jazzy Jeff, and the rest. The game adds plenty of fun mechanics and thankfully doesn’t give you some mind-numbingly boring story mode to complete, something that’s sadly changing with the sequel. I’m not sure about the rest of you but watching my “band” get big in the first few Guitar Hero titles was enough for me. But it’s highly recommended, easily one of the best and most sadly overlooked recent music games, giving you perhaps even a greater feeling of creating music than you ever got from the rock-centric titles.
The soundtrack for the sequel will contain plenty of returning artists like 2Pac, MIA and Stevie Wonder, but of course have plenty of new tracks- everyone from Metallica to Nas to The Prodigy. New DJs appearing include David Guetta, Deadmau5, DJ Qbert and Tiësto. Check out some of their stuff below-
