Do you believe in the soul, the cock, the pussy, the small of a woman’s back, the hanging curve ball, high fiber, good scotch, that the novels of Susan Sontag are self-indulgent, overrated crap.

Do you believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone? There ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter? Do you believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last three days?

If so, then August 3, 2010 is your day.

Bull Durham finally gets a Blu-ray release on that day. The best baseball movie of all time will be getting decent release, but only the movie is getting the high def treatment. MGM is pulling the crap move of putting all the extra features from the 20th Anniversary Edition DVD as a second disc in the box – the same DVD that is already in the Anniversary Edition! That means if you want to hear Ron Shelton’s commentary, you have to watch the standard edition DVD.

If you love the movie and have to have everything on high def, grab it because it is cheap – MSRP $24.99 ($18.99 on Amazon.com preorder). If you don’t own the movie already, this is the edition to grab as well.

If you have the Anniversary Edition and don’t think high def will make much of a difference, let MGM know how you feel by keeping your money.
