Many moons ago, it was announced that Jim Carrey and Jason Reitman were going to team for the comedy, Pierre Pierre, by writers Edwin Cannistraci and Frederick Seton. Their script for the project made the Black List, the list of the best unproduced scripts in Hollywood, and was snatched up for a cool million by Fox Atomic. Then Reitman dropped out, as did Fox Atomic (of existence that is), and the project got shelved. But now Larry Charles, most recently of both Borat and Bruno fame, has come aboard, and the project is moving forward again, with Carrey still attached.
The film will find Carrey portraying a Frenchman who transports a stolen painting from Paris to London, behaving quite obnoxiously along the way. It reportedly has a budget somewhere around $20 million, which , surprisingly, Carrey isn’t scarfing up all for himself just to appear in the thing.
