Devin recently brought word of a director who may be hopping onto Clash of the Titans 2, and now news comes from THR.com that writers have been hired: Dan Mazeau, who worked for Warners on The Flash and Jonny Quest,
is being paired with David Leslie Johnson, writer of The Girl with the
Red Riding Hood, the studio’s horror thriller starring Amanda Seyfried
that is in pre-production. The duo are working with Greg Berlanti,
another Warners go-to scribe, on the treatment and will then write the
screenplay.
Couldn’t find much else on Mazeau on IMDB, but Johnson was the writer on last year’s Orphan. He also has two projects, The Colony and Lake Mungo in development. He got his start on The Shawshank Redemption as an assistant to Frank Darabont. Gerg Berlanti of course is a producer on such projects as Eli Stone, Brothers & Sisters, Dirty Sexy Money and the upcoming No Ordinary Family and Green Lantern.
Looks like I’ll have to wait for Titans on DVD, but the sequel will be shot for 3D, rather than the reported crappy conversion job the original underwent.
