ComingSoon has word that WWE Films is prepping their next film, The Chaperone, as a vehicle for star wrestler, HHH (aka Paul Levesque). Stephen Herek, who’s been in director jail for a while now, will be in the big chair for the project, which will see HHH as Ray Bradstone, a former wheel man who is trying to go straight for the sake of his wife (Annabeth Gish) and daughter (Ariel Winter). When finding legit work proves difficult, Bradstone agrees to one last bank job, but then backs out at the last minute. He then finds himself the target of the ringleader, Phillip Larue (Kevin Corrigan), when the job goes awry.
Bradstone agrees to chaperone his daughter’s field trip to the Natural History Museum in New Orleans. He soon has to divide his time, however, between trying to deal with Larue, who is chasing the school bus throughout the entire trip, and trying to keep his daughter’s classmates in line. S.J. Roth scripted the project, which begins shooting today in and around New Orleans.
I’m kind of surprised it’s been this long that HHH, who is married to WWE Chairman Vince McMahon’s daughter, Stephanie, and is one of their top stars, both in front of the camera and behind the scenes, has gotten back to the screen. HHH was last seen in Blade: Trinity where, suprisingly, he wasn’t the most god awful thing in that god awful movie. He also has a role in the upcoming Killing Karma, reteaming with Parker Posey, as well as Bruce Dern and Michael Rapaport.
