Hey, there’s a thought. But as it turns out, the pair are actually heading to Goodnight Moon for writer-director Elgin James and producer Jamie Patricof (Half Nelson, Blue Valentine). Also in the cast are Chris Coy, Kyle Gallner, Juno Temple and AnnaSophia Robb. Temple and Robb will portray young girls who find themselves
in trouble after they run away to Los Angeles and hook up with
skaters and street kids. Mann plays Temple’s mom, a woman who works at a secondhand clothing
store but whose best years are behind her. Bosworth will be Mann’s
sister. Coy will play an opportunistic, sociopathic street kid, and Gallner
is a skater; both use the girls to run a scam that goes bad.
Mann was most recently in 17 Again and Funny People. She has American Empire for director Andy Armstrong pending for 2011. Meanwhile, Bosworth was last in 21. She has The Warrior’s Way and Rod Lurie’s Straw Dogs remake upcoming. James is notable for opnce having started a street gang in the Boston area before ending up at
Sundance Labs. Moon is said to be semi-autobiographical.
