Jennifer Lopez is in talks to remake the 1987 Kurt Russell / Goldie Hawn comedy, Overboard for Will Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment and Columbia. Garry Marshall directed the original, which centered on a snooty, spoiled woman who
falls off her yacht and is taken to the hospital by a local,
morally challenged carpenter. When she wakes up with amnesia, he
convinces her she is his wife, thereby getting a free housekeeper
for his four boys. Adam Cooper and Bill Collage worked on the current script, as did
Leslie Dixon.
J.Lo, who’s been out of action for a few years to take care of her children and husband, Marc Anthony (he wasn’t injured or disabled, he just needs taking care of), is getting back into the film game, with her next project, The Back-Up Plan, which opens April 23rd.
