Robert Downey Jr is looking to star in the new Alfonso Cuaron film, Gravity, shooting this summer in… you guessed it, 3D!
The
film is about two astronauts on a space station who are doing an EVA
when a catastrophe strikes the station, wiping everyone else out. The
two must figure out a way to get back to Earth. Sounds like good,
tense, simple stuff, and exactly the kind of thing I think Cuaron could
nail. And he’s one of the few directors who seems right for 3D – he
probably gets how to use it, unlike the Tim Burtons of the world.
Angelina
Jolie was set to co-star, but she bowed out when the film got dropped
by Universal. Now it’s comfortably at Warner Bros, and it’ll be
shooting in London.
