Some Pepper doings afoot: Barry will play outlaw “Lucky Ned” (both are Peppers!) in the Coen brothers’ upcoming True Grit remake. The role was first portrayed by Robert Duvall in the 1969 original. Pepper joins the already-cast Matt Damon, Jeff Bridges, Josh Brolin and Hailee Steinfeld. Ethan and Joel Coen will lens from their adapted script. Scott Rudin is
producing; Steven Spielberg is exec producer. The Coens also are
producers.
Pepper has established a pretty good career for himself, coming out of a lot of genre TV guest appearances. And of course he was the only one to know how to complain properly in Saving Private Ryan. He also has other war experience with Flags of our Fathers and even Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. And hell, kudos to any guy who survived Battlefield Earth. He’ll next be seen in Casino Jack, George Hickenlooper’s film about disgraced Washington lobbyist Jack Abramoff.
Get up to and including a mile of Hitler on the message boards.
