Former Smallville regular Annette O’Toole is set to return as Martha Kent for an undisclosed number of episodes, most like during May Sweeps.  According to Michael Ausiello, Martha’s return will include an “unexpected surprise” or two.  O’Toole was last seen in Season 6 when Martha Kent left Washington to become a U.S. Senator.  Apparently she got locked up in the health care debate for the last three years or so and hasn’t been back since.

CBS is apparently determined to keep Alex O’Loughlin working for them as word has it he’s being considered to headline the upcoming remake of Hawaii Five-O.  O’Loughlin previously worked for the Eye on both the vampire drama Moonlight and transplant drama, Three Rivers, both of which were expeditiously canceled within the last couple of years. Fringe honchos Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci and CSI: NY’s Peter Lenkov are shepherding this remake.  The original ran on CBS from 1968 to 1980 and featured Jack Lord as Det. Steve McGarrett.
