The first round of DLC for The Beatles Rock Band (review)- the rest of Abbey Road- was a bit of a disappointment. Most of the best songs had been already included in the retail game, and while the medley was a blast to play through there was no way the whole thing was worth the extravagant price point.
No, the first real exciting bit of downloadable content will be Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band. The songs are 2 bucks apiece or you can pick up the whole rest of the album for $13.50. I’ve included links to youtube versions to all the tracks below so you can brush up on your memory.
“Fixing
A Hole”
“She’s Leaving Home”
“Being For The Benefit of Mr. Kite!”
“Within
You Without You”
“When I’m Sixty-Four”
“Lovely Rita”
“Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely
Hearts Club Band (Reprise)”
“A Day In The Life”
It may sound silly to get two more versions of songs we already own, but Within You Without You is the original arrangement, and the Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise) is rocking as all hell and going to be a blast. Preferable to the first track, in my opinion. Lovely Rita will be horrible for me, because I already get the song in my head every time I see a meter maid on the prowl and have to stop myself from calling them Rita if we ever talk. And I bet that She’s Leaving Home will have us playing different stringed instruments once again, as well.
But Fixing a Hole, When I’m Sixty Four, and A Day In The Life? Yeah, for Beatlemaniacs, this is going to be a great package. The album hits Xbox 360 and Wii on November 17th and then PS3 on November 19th.
