While there may be nothing less hip than the Twilight movies themselves, there may be nothing more hip on record store shelves this fall than the soundtrack to the new film in the ‘saga,’ New Moon. The track listing was revealed today and it’s a veritable who’s who of happening bands, most of whom are contributing original music. Leading the way: Radiohead front man Thom Yorke with what I believe is an original track.
Of course this list will lead to much wailing and gnashing of teeth on the CHUD message boards, especially from those whose record collections stop at REO Speedwagon or maybe Live, but this is a pretty impressive line-up of talent. If the tracks are good, New Moon has a chance of going down in history as having a great soundtrack.
And if you saw Twilight you’ll know that this isn’t Thom Yorke’s first trip to Forks – Radiohead had the closing credits song in that film.
